With the 21 digital scans of chicken eggs in this book, Edgar Leciejewski is referencing the genres of still life and nature study, but they actually are something else entirely. Instead of using a camera, he recorded these images directly on a flatbed scanner, and thus created some very direct images of these objects, without the aid of a lens or a 'development' process. This method also affords a great attention to detail that highlights the individuality of each of the 'unifom' eggs.
