April Gertler & Adrian Schiesser

Adrian Schiesser (DE) graduated from Goldsmiths College, London (1996) with a degree in Fine Art and Critical Theory. His work ranges from installations, prints and audio works and is often produced in relation to existing logic systems, by reconfiguring abstract models of representation of reality. He has recently shown work at Kunstpunkt, Berlin; Galerie Meyer, Marseille, France; Spor Klübü, Berlin and tête, Berlin.

April Gertler (US) received a BA, in Interdisciplinary Studies, UC Berkeley (1991), a BFA in Photography, California College of the Arts (1997) and an MFA in Photography, Bard College, NY (2003). April’s diverse work ranges from artist books and collages to lecture-performance and social sculpture. She is the Founding Director of PICTURE BERLIN (2009), a hybrid residency program. Since 2015, April has continued her performance series TAKE THE CAKE, which marries a Cooking Show with Lecture Performance. Her collaborative  pscyho-geographical walking project IN SEARCH OF THE MIRACULOUS was initially developed for PICTURE BERLIN, but she has since brought it to the Netherlands and Denmark. Since 2016, she has been an Adjunct Professor at Bard College Berlin where she teaches black and white analogue photography.
