From 1973 to 1977 he studied history at the Humboldt University of Berlin, specializing in the history of the USA.Until 1990 he worked as senior assistant to the History Department of the Gewerkschaftshochschule in Bernau near Berlin.  1985 doctorate in German-Russian economic history. Since 1990 work in various positions and fields of independent youth and adult education. 2005 to 2019 change of job profile to projects of monument conservation and public relations at the Baudenkmal Bundesschule Bernau. Publications on the history of construction and use of the Bernau Bauhaus-UNESCO World Heritage Site.
