Am Brunnen vor dem Tore

Where do we see art? How do we see art? And what do we see? Jochen Plogsties's Am Brunnen vor dem Tore is a visual examination of the artistic object. By painting, he seeks to clarify the nature of art, its places and its processes. In his paintings, the museums are facing their objects, and are thus also combined. "Through painting, he Plogsties evokes the slowing processes of nature and culture, and their perception by the senses: over immeasurable distances and levels of dust, sand and civilization rubble one can almost hear the distant rustle of the wind (and the breaking of the waves)."
