Thirty-Six is an exhibition by Daniel Gustav Cramer in the restricted space of a book. It brings together thirty-six of his works, yet goes far beyond the mere documentation through depiction and description. The succession of the works on the pages makes for multifarious new associations, connections and moods.
The works of Daniel Gustav Cramer are based on accurate observations of 'invisible' moments that only reveal themselves at a second glance. In his photographs, text works and books, he depicts structured systems as well as personal experiences; large scale objects are next to the smallest ones, nothing is obvious. The work opens up in reflection.
Daniel Gustav Cramer (*1975 in Neuss) studied in Münster and at the Royal College of Art in London. From 2005 to 2007 he was Senior Lecturer for Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University. Recently, Cramer had solo exhibitions at the Kunstverein Dortmund and the Goethe Institut in Dublin. He lives and works in Berlin.

Daniel Gustav Cramer: Thirty-Six
Thirty-Six ist eine Ausstellung von Daniel Gustav Cramer im reduzierten Raum eines Buches. Sie bringt sechsunddreißig seiner Arbeiten zusammen und führt dabei weit über die bloße Abbildung und Dokumentation hinaus: aus dem Nacheinander der Seitenabfolge ergeben sich eine Vielzahl neuer Zusammenhänge, Assoziationen und Stimmungen.
Die Arbeiten Daniel Gustav Cramers basieren auf genauen Beobachtungen 'unsichtbarer' Momente, die sich erst auf den zweiten Blick eröffnen. In seinen Fotografien, Textarbeiten und Büchern stehen Beschreibungen strukturierter Systeme neben den Schilderungen persönlicher Erfahrungen; das Große steht neben dem Kleinen, nichts ist offensichtlich. Die Arbeiten erschließen sich im Nachdenken über ihre Bezüge.
