Axel Lapp (*1966) is a critic, curator and art historian based in Berlin and Newcastle. He has studied Art History at the Universities of Marburg, Essex and Manchester, and was Henry Moore Research Fellow at the University of Leeds from 1998 to 2000. Currently, he holds a position as Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Sunderland. His academic writing concentrates on artists' networks and systems, on the performative and on cultural memorialisation. He is Contributing Editor (Berlin) for Art Review and regularly writes on matters of contemporary art and cultural politics. He has been curating his own exhibition space, Axel Lapp Projects, and is working on several new exhibition projects. He is also Deputy Director of the International Curators Forum.

Anja Lutz (*1970) studied at the London College of Printing and the Jan van Eyck Akademie (MA Design). Since 1994 she works as a freelance book designer for artists, publishers and cultural institutions (Die Gestalten Verlag, Jan van Eyck Editions, Ullstein, Kieser Verlag, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Deutsches Theater Þ). Since 1995, she is initiator and art director of the international art and design project shift!, that has been presented at numerous festivals, exhibitions and lectures. She received the European Adobe Design Award, was Visiting Professor at the American University of Beirut and a Fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
