Twenty Women Talk About Art

For Berlin Studio Conversations – Twenty Women Talk About Art, art historian Stephanie Buhmann conducted interviews with nineteen female artists. While their genres, aesthetics and media differ greatly, they still have one thing in common: they all live and work in Berlin. In search of the contents, which are outside the medial fixation on the art market, Buhmann visited the artists in their studios and gained insights in the intimate space of their artistic practices.

Socialist Architecture – The Reappearing Act

Socialist Architecture – The Reappearing Act is a cooperation between the architect Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss and the photographer Armin Linke. Since 2009, Jovanovic Weiss and Linke are documenting the current state of selected places of socialistic architecture in the former Yugoslavia. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia disappeared in the early 1990s and was "balkanized" in various new democracies and former socialist states. Every of these new states inherited momuments, buildings and infrastructures, which were built for the earlier socialist society.

Curating in the Caribbean

This volume brings together a wide range of authors, all of whom were born and/or work in the Caribbean, who were invited to contribute essays which explore the current curatorial drive within the Caribbean. The theme of curatorship is considered in its broadest context, and encompasses many different projects and initiatives aimed at creating a platform for the visual arts, making visual art ‘visible’ by bringing it to a wider audience and broadening the critical discussion around it.
